3 things to do in your yoga retreat to make it stand out
I am a yoga and wellness photographer and a yoga teacher. I have been on many retreats either as a teacher or as a photographer and I can now discern what is needed to make a yoga retreat unforgettable.
Have an excellent chef
I have been on retreats where the cuisine was mediocre and let me tell you it changed the whole general mood. I myself always work with the outstanding chef Jeni England and the difference is stark.
Good food will make people happy, but more than the food you need a chef who understands retreats’ dynamics and who knows yoga as a philosophy.
It will make things run smoother and the retreat will be coherent as a whole.
Bring people together
I have been on retreats where there was yoga in the morning, yoga in the evening and that was kind of it.
People might not necessarily remember the yoga. However the most soul filling thing one can do in my opinion is to connect with others. Retreats create friendships simply by having people sharing a space but you are missing out if you are not facilitating this by creating bonding activities.
Plan an excursion outside of your retreat venue
It can be as simple as a trip to the nearby beach but taking the guests outside of the retreat venue is like going out with your professors as a student. The line between assigned roles is a bit loser and it allows for more personal expression, conveniently creating connections as per my previous point.
