3 myths that prevent you from booking a yoga photoshoot
I need to be good at asana to have my picture taken
The same way you don’t need to be “good” at asana to be a teacher or a practitioner, same goes for a photoshoot. We take these pictures in order to be credible and visible when we put ourselves out there as teachers - it means that you want to show up authentically to find your people. And if you’re not someone who does crazy arm balances, then they probably shouldn’t feature in your photoshoot.
I need my pictures to look very commercial to be taken seriously
Your pictures can have that editorial look if that is your preference, but if you are looking to inject a bit more of your personality into your photoshoot, not only it will make it more fun, but it will also attract people who are drawn to your story and your personality.
A photoshoot is an uncomfortable moment that you need to get over with
I understand that they can be intimidating but with the right person, they can absolutely be a joyous moment that you will remember fondly! To make sure that is the case I encourage you to get to know your photographer, whether through their social channels or maybe in a zoom call beforehand to see if your values align.
